COVIAM Visitors’ Meeting.

From 20-27 June, the majority of Visitors, Vice-Visitors and Regional Superiors of COVIAM (Conference of Visitors of Africa and Madagascar) met in Nairobi (Kenya). The superior of the new Region of Burundi-Rwanda participated at this meeting for the first time. Fr. Victor Bieler, Assistant General for the Missions, was present on the part of the General Curia. During this meeting, the participants shared the reality of their provinces, dialogued on the formation of formators and interprovincial collaboration, and revised the Statutes of COVIAM. Fr. Emmanuel Typamm was elected Executive Secretary. The annual meeting of formators of COVIAM will be held from 8-26 July, also in Nairobi.

Purpose of the COVIAM Formator's Group: (Adopted July 10, 2001)

      The purpose of the COVIAM Formator's Group is to form formators in the Christian and Vincentian tradition of evangelizing the poor.  So that by the grace of God, we formators may lead ourselves and our students to freedom from sin and to freedom from building the Kingdom of God in Africa and Madagascar.
